"El Principito" (The Little Prince) was designed in collaboration with the deaf community, but it makes it easier for all users to read and understand the text.

Short version on Youtube

A new digital book complements “Papelucho” and “The Three Little Piggies at the Circus”, developed by CEDETi UC: “El Principito” (The Little Prince), by the French author Antoine de Saint Exupery, was originally published in 1943 and translated into over two hundred and fifty languages.

Developed jointly with the deaf community –experts and students from the schools Dr. Jorge Otte and Santiago Apóstol– the digital and inclusive version of “El Principito” is intended to bring the original work closer to all readers through various audiovisual resources such as videos with Chilean Sign Language narration, original illustrations, and adapted texts, all of which are features that facilitate reading comprehension.

Through this title, we wish to make available a new accessibility tool initially aimed at the deaf community, but which also takes into account other users’ needs, because its multimodal solutions make reading more fun and dynamic than ever before.
